PRACTICE IN PROGRESS RESIDENCIES + STUDIO STILLS
READINGS IN PASSAGE
This is a short film commissioned by CAAKE which captures the process of a collaborative art project which involved a short residency and workshop series in March and April 2016. It started at top of the Sperrin Mountains in Northern Ireland and ended in a live performance installation in partnership with R-Space Gallery in Lisburn. The group consisted of 6 artists and performers from around Northern Ireland and England where their conversations and actions reflected upon their concerns through individual practices coming together in collaboration as a form of physical research; a project taking them away from their usual studio practice to engage with materials, movement and memory within an unfamiliar and exposed mountain landscape surrounding the Glenshane Pass, County Londonderry. The group's experience culminated in a work-in-progress live performance installation on the 15th April 2016 earlier this year. This film is the ether and residues of all those moments of the process and more work will continue to unravel the experience and present new interdisciplinary works.
Thanks to Paola Bernardelli and Mara Cavalli for creating the film.
